This Privacy Policy explains how Search Engineers ("Search Engineers," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you visit searchengineers.in (the "Website"), submit an enquiry, book a call, or otherwise interact with us.
We are the data fiduciary responsible for your personal data under applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act").

2. The personal data we collect
a) Information you give us directly
When you fill in a contact form, request an audit, book an appointment, subscribe to updates, or message us, we may collect:

- Phone / WhatsApp number

- The details you include in your enquiry or message
b) Information we collect automatically
When you browse the Website, we and our analytics providers may collect:

c) Information from third parties
If you contact us through a lead form on Google, LinkedIn, or another platform, or through a paid ad, we may receive the details you submitted there. We may also receive aggregate campaign data from advertising and analytics platforms.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data (such as financial account details, health records, or government IDs) through the Website. Please do not include such information in enquiry forms.

5. Who we share your personal data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with parties who help us operate our business, and only to the extent needed:
- CRM and lead management — Zoho CRM, to store and follow up on your enquiry
- Messaging — WhatsApp Business (via Wati), where you choose to contact us on WhatsApp
- Analytics and advertising — Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, Ads) and Microsoft (Clarity), to measure Website and campaign performance
- Automation and email tools — our workflow automation and email tools, to route enquiries and send communications you have opted into
- Hosting and infrastructure — our website hosting provider Hostinger
- Professional advisors — accountants, auditors, or legal advisors, where required
- Authorities — where we are legally required to disclose information
These providers process your data on our behalf under agreements that require them to protect it and use it only for the purposes we specify.
6. International data transfers
Some of the service providers listed above (for example, Google and Microsoft) may process personal data on servers located outside India. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data continues to be protected, and we transfer data only to jurisdictions not restricted under the DPDP Act.

- Enquiries that do not become engagements: retained for up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymised
- Client records: retained for the duration of the engagement and for the period required by tax, accounting, and legal obligations after it ends
- Marketing contacts: retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- Access — request confirmation of, and information about, the personal data we hold about you
- Correction and completion — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data where it is no longer needed
- Withdraw consent — withdraw any consent you have given, at any time
- Grievance redressal — raise a concern about how we handle your data (see Section 10)
- Nominate — nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity

9. Children's data
Our Website and services are intended for businesses and professionals, not for children. We do not knowingly collect the personal data of anyone under 18, and we do not direct advertising at children or carry out tracking or profiling of children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
